I thought that culprit of this episode was Appmon, namely Gossipmon, Kosomon or Reviewmon, but it was new digimon, Publimon. Shame, it would be nice to include appmon in more digimon series, like what they did with Xros wars' digimon.

Basically, he was SO obssesed with winning that fight to make his article come true that he didn't realize he had cut off his own parachute and was plumetting to his death. Hell, even AFTER hitting the ground he was still obsessing over killing Anna just to get more 'followers'. It's a very dark lesson about those kinds of things in social media...

Yes, it was really dark and Hiro couldn't use his "talk no jutsu" to him.

Extra-so when you realize Hiro WAS trying to catch him before he crashed there at the end, he DID notice that the parachute had been destroyed and tried to save him before he crashed, but FAILED right before the impact. This show really doesn't shy away from getting dark as all fuck.

Maybe it was only way to rid of Publimon. If he survived, I think that he wouldn't listen and wouldn't accept his mistakes and mischiefs.

Basically, yeah, there was no way of 'calming' that one, I was just pointing out that they really went all out in how brutal that was, having the MC fail like that and firsthand witness that death, regardless of how much he deserved it.

I was REALLY hoping they'd tie in the appmons here aw lol.

Okay 3 things I’ve got to say

1. The fact that Publimon was willing to hurt or even kill people just to get everyone to read his story is a good reason that social media can be a good and bad influence

2. I just discovered 2 new Gammamon evolutions one was a black version of Canoweissmon so I’ll call him Canoshwarzmon and a mega evolution that looks like it combines both Gammamon and Gulusgammamon which I believe will happen in the future.

3. I think I finally now why Hiro can’t link up with Gulusgammamon it’s simple but I’ll say it out of context. Hiro probably can’t link up with him because he’s either scared or unaccepted of him because Gulusgammamon is way to lethal. Think about it while Gulusgammamon may have save them in the past he always resorts to extremely lethal measures and that’s why Hiro probably won’t accept him for now ( what do you guys think about all this?)

According to one source, Gulusgammamon's Ultimate form is named Regulusmon while Gammamon's Mega form is named Siriusmon

Kind of misleading naming sense

It actually makes sense when you look at how they look. Regulus appears dark and sinister, Sirius appears bright and heavenly.

Also stars are just randomly named by some dudes in ancient history, why can't Digimon designers do that too? There are bunch of Digimon whose names don't really make sense like "Tailmon" or "Jyagamon" (which was supposed to be Potato looking but looks like a canine covered in rocks instead) or "Pyokomon" and so on.

Whats so wrong about Tailmon? Her Tail does stick out a bit whit the Holy Ring.
And Jyagamon looks more like a Armadillomon Vatiant, also Armadillo. Or some kimd of Australian Mamal. Wombat maybe?
The Name we expecte was probably something like Prism, or Rainbow, or Grey Gammamon, or something whit this words included.

animation was suprisingly crisp at some parts, I hope this is a sign of better changes to come.

I'm still amazed that Kiyoshiro still would like think a ghost did something. His experience with Digimon should be enough, especially with his own partner Digimon. I know it's the running gag but I really wish the writers moved on from this.

I dont know, I dont think thats so much the Point. Similar to Bunnygirl Senpai (where its more about Symbolism not the Explanation how) its more about what Digimon did it why and how.
And the main Appeal is seeing iconic Horrorstorys in Digimon. They had a Uzumaki Reference in Digimon, thats something I could never immagine.

Seriously, after 45 episode, everyone would think that digimon causes havoc, not ghost.

Out of all the ways for a Digimon to die, I was not expecting that. That was genuinely terrifying.

This is second time that digimon committed suicide. Ajataramon did it voluntarily, Publimon did it accidentally.

Talk about a dark ending, but it was fitting as someone like Publimon was beyond any kind of redemption, I also think that a Digimon accidentally killing itself is like a first time in the franchise right? Unless I'm misremembering something... but regardless, really dark episode and I loved it.

Also... did Hiro finally asked what kind of place is the Digiworld? Because if the did... then please dear god, let the team travel to that place already! Because all this buildup has nowhere to go at this point... still, we got a new ending tho, so I guess that's something worth celebrating.

Ajartaramon also killed herself. The difference was her's was intentional while Publimon was a sheer accident. If anything Hiro was certainly bitter about not being able to save him even though this might be the one and perhaps of a few times Hiro wasn't able to see eye-to-eye with a Digimon's motivations.
